Think Tanks
Think Tank I brought together key stakeholders to share results from customer discovery with deans across the country focused on identifying attributes that differentiate institutions, and inventory existing faculty development/mentorship models within KEEN and engineering societies. Think Tank II provided input and direction on how EFIC will function to advance the interests of the community and enable broad impact, establish partnerships on specific areas of investigation, and develop plans to implement studies/activities starting in 2019.

- Share findings from conversations with the Deans customer discovery
- Make connections to other faculty development/mentorship practices
- Learn from each other about what we do at each of our organizations to support faculty development
- Discuss early plan for an “Engineering Faculty Impact Collaborative” (EFIC)
- Identify partnering opportunities to shape EFIC to advance engineering faculty impact

KEEN Presentation
Dr. Doug Melton discussed The Kern Family Foundation and it focus areas, with overview of the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network (KEEN) and the entrepreneurial mindset (EM). KEEN is a national partnership of universities with the shared mission to graduate engineers with an entrepreneurial mindset so they can create personal, economic, and societal value through a lifetime of meaningful work.
